UMass Presidential Search Committee To Hold Second Meeting

BOSTON (AP) — The University of Massachusetts Presidential Search Committee will hold its second meeting Tuesday to discuss the next steps in the search process.

UMass President Robert Caret announced his resignation in December after four years in the job. Caret is set to become chancellor for the University of Maryland system on July 1.

A 21-person search committee was named in February and hopes to have a new president hired by June 30. The board of trustees is expected to hold public interviews of final candidates.

The search committee meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the UMass President's Office in Boston. The meeting is open to the public.
