Milford Man Charged With OUI In Crash That Injured 5

UPTON (CBS) -- Police say a drunk driving crash sent five people to the hospital, including two children, on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities responded to a two-car crash on Milford Street at 3:40 p.m. A 2007 Toyota Sequoia, traveling south, crossed the center line and struck a 2011 Ford Escape, police said.

Toyota driver Thomas Burns, 41, of Milford, was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor and hospitalized.

The 31-year-old Ford driver and two minor children were taken to a local hospital. A female passenger also suffered serious injuries and had to be freed with the Jaws of Life before being transported.

Police are still investigating the crash.
