Brady, Patriots Share Love For Vince Wilfork

BOSTON (CBS) --In the hours after Vince Wilfork announced that he was signing with the Houston Texans, his former Patriots teammates wanted to share their love for the big man.

Many of his former defensive compatriots took to Twitter to wish Wilfork luck with his new team, and thank him for the years of mentoring:

Quarterback Tom Brady used his facebook page Tuesday morning to share his love for Wilfork. But he didn't wish his former teammate luck, not with the Texans one of New England's scheduled opponents in 2015:

And maybe no one loved Wilfork more than Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who released a statement shortly after Monday's announcement praising Wilfork for his 11 years in New England:

"Few players reached or will ever reach the special level of Vince Wilfork. He is a great champion and one of the classiest people I have ever been around — just a kind, genuine and giving person who was all about our team, football, winning and bringing joy to others. There may have never been anyone at his position with as much strength, toughness, intelligence, instinctiveness and athleticism. He is the best defensive linemen I ever coached, an all-time great Patriot whose place on our team will be missed but whose remarkable career as a Patriot will be remembered forever."

The Patriots drafted Wilfork 21st overall in 2004 out of Miami. In addition to his two Super Bowls with the team, he was a five-time Pro Bowler and named to the Patriots' 50th Anniversary Team.
