Police: Texting Driver Hits Officer's Cruiser

FALMOUTH (CBS) -- A 22-year-old driver admitted she was texting before hitting an officer's cruiser early Sunday morning, according to Falmouth police.

The crash sent both the driver and the officer to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer has since been treated and released.

The cruiser had its emergency lights flashing as it blocked a closed bridge when it was struck at about 1:45 a.m.

Police say Erikka Williams, of East Falmouth, was not impaired but admitted to texting on her cell phone prior to the crash.

Police did not say if she will be facing charges.
