Man Struck And Killed By Train In South Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- A man was struck and killed by a train after trespassing onto the main tracks at Cabot Yard in South Boston Sunday evening, according to Transit Police.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly before 6p.m.

The incident occurred near the MBTA's maintenance facility. However, the person struck was not an MBTA worker, according to an MBTA spokesperson.

Police are investigating.
