3 Hurt In 2-Vehicle Crash In Lunenburg

LUNENBURG (CBS) - Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Lunenburg, officials say.

Lunenburg and Townsend emergency crews were called to a high-speed accident on Chase Road shortly after 4 p.m., according to Lunenburg Fire Chief Patrick Sullivan.

A black sedan appeared to have sustained significant damage.

Rescue teams spent about 45 minutes trying to free a woman driver trapped in the sedan.

She was seriously injured in the crash.

The woman was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

A driver and passenger in a blue GMC SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

They were taken to HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster.

Debris was scattered across the roadway following the accident.

At least one tow truck was at the scene.
