Patriots Re-Sign DT Alan Branch

BOSTON (CBS) - A member of the New England Patriots' defensive line will be returning to the team, as Alan Branch has inked a two-year deal, according to a report by ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss.

Branch's agent, Blake Baratz, tweeted "Congrats to Alan Branch on agreeing to return to the world champion @patriots. This is a great fit & his best football is coming in '15!"

The deal has a maximum value of $6.6 million, a source told Reiss.

The 30-year-old defensive tackle had 13 tackles and one pass defensed for the Patriots in eight games last season.

In his career, he has registered 183 tackles, eight sacks, nine passes defensed and two forced fumbles.

Branch was drafted 33rd overall in 2007 by the Arizona Cardinals.

He also has played for the Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills.
