Woman And Dog Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver In Plymouth

PLYMOUTH (CBS) - A woman and her dog were killed by a hit-and-run driver Thursday morning in Plymouth.

Marjorie Cochrane was known for walking her dogs according to neighbors. They said she was walking her dog Sasha when she was hit.

Jan Zuberer has known the woman she calls Margie since 1999.

"She was always walking her dogs, one or several same pattern down and around," said Zuberer.

Plymouth police said just before eight in the morning a driver hit the 69-year-old woman and her dog. Officers said someone found her in the street and called for help. Cochrane died in the hospital. Her dog also died.

Cochrane was hit next to her home on the corner of Lunns Way and Garrett Place. Investigators focused much of the day on reconstructing the accident. They said the vehicle involved has front end and windshield damage.

A vigil is planned for Saturday evening at 7pm at the intersection of Lunns Way and Garrett Place.
