Mayor Walsh Wants Your Ideas To Transform City Hall Plaza

BOSTON (CBS) -- Boston's Mayor Marty Walsh is looking to redesign City Hall Plaza, and wants your help.

"While we've reimagined the interior entrance of the building, enlivening the space with public art, a coffee cart, and tables and chairs, the exterior needs new energy," Walsh said in a public statement Monday.

Every day, between 20,000 to 30,000 people walk through 200,000 square feet of the plaza's open space.

Walsh has invited the public to send him ideas through Twitter, or submit an informal Request for Ideas (RFI) through the city's website.

"I'm looking to our experts in architecture and urban planning for design, curation, and partnership ideas, as well as residents of Boston and other interested parties," Walsh said.
