Man Soliciting Donations For ISIS Reported On Harvard Campus

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – Harvard University officials said an unidentified man was spotted earlier this week soliciting donations for ISIS on campus.

A Harvard spokesman said an email was sent on Thursday to Harvard Kennedy School students telling them an unknown man had been reported in the area on Tuesday.

The man was reportedly asking for donations for a charity that is connected to the Islamic State, the spokesman said.

No one has reported seeing the man on campus since the initial incident.

"At this time there does not appear to be a threat to the community, but we felt that it was important to notify members of our community," the school said in a statement.

"We have also notified the Harvard University Police Department."
