Talbot Tells Zo & Bertrand He 'Feels At Home Already' In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) - Newest Bruin Max Talbot stopped by the 98.5 TD Garden Pro Shop Studio Thursday afternoon to chat with Zolak & Bertrand.

As a former member of the Penguins and Flyers, Boston is a city Talbot has played in as a visitor a lot. But now he'll get to know what it's like being on the home team.

"Very excited to be here," the veteran said to start the interview. "It's a team that I respect a lot with the history. I'm very glad and I feel at home already."

Talbot entered the NHL in 2005 and has been traded once before. After getting over the initial shock of being traded on Monday, Talbot's disbelief soon turned to elation.

"I was not expected to be traded. So it was like, 'Okay. I'm traded. Really?' It was a shock. But when you learn it's for the Bruins I got very excited, because it's a team that I respect a lot; you have a shot to win it all because you're such a good team, the city is great and all the emotion became, 'Okay, this is all good. This is very exciting.' The wife was excited because she's never been to Boston, so it's very cool."

Talbot grew up in a suburb outside of Montreal, but don't worry Bruins fans . . . he's cool.

"I never really hated the Bruins. I was a hockey fan but I was not in love with the Montreal Canadiens or the Nordiques. I was more of a casual fan of the game of hockey in general. It's cool to be a Bruin," said Talbot.

"I told my friends and family in Montreal to not put any Bruins flags on their cars when we play them. My cousins were already putting Facebook posts with their Bruins hats on and they got like hate message already. It's going to make it fun and very interesting for me."

All the things we heard about Talbot being a good locker room guy seem one hundred percent accurate. He was a pleasure to interview.
