WBZ NewsRadio 1030 To Provide Weekly Podcast From Marathon Bombing Trial

Boston, MA – March 3, 2015 – Opening statements in the Unites States v. Dzhokhar A Tsarnaev trial of the accused Boston Marathon Bomber are expected to begin March 4, 2015. WBZ NewsRadio 1030 will have comprehensive reporting in newscasts throughout the day as well as digital and social media real time reporting while court is in session.

In an effort to reach those listeners who need their news "on-demand," WBZ debuts today a weekly Podcast of the highlights of the ground breaking trial happening in the John Joseph Moakley Federal Courthouse in South Boston. In addition to their daily reporting responsibilities, veteran WBZ NewsRadio 1030 reporters Lana Jones and Carl Stevens will sit down in the WBZ Mobile Newsroom outside the courthouse and record the weekly Podcast. The Podcast will focus on all aspects of the trial such as: jury selection, opening arguments, testimony, legal strategies and logistic hurdles and expert analysis. This podcast will provide a platform for Carl Stevens and Lana Jones to present the trial more in depth and in a discussion format, and it gives the mobile news consumer user full coverage of the trial on the go.

If the trial schedule goes as planned, Jones and Stevens will record on Thursdays and the Podcast will publish on Friday mornings. The podcast can be found here http://boston.cbslocal.com/audio/ and is available on all devices.
