Dr. Tommy Chang Selected As Superintendent Of Boston Schools
BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston School Committee voted to select Dr. Tommy Chang as the next Superintendent of Boston Public Schools.
Chang is currently working at the Los Angeles Unified School District where he oversees 135 schools and approximately 95,000 students.
Mayor Marty Walsh welcomes Chang's selection.
"Dr. Chang will provide the leadership that our school system needs and I am confident that his innovative views on education will move our students forward," Walsh said. "We need a transformative leader and that is Tommy Chang."
Chang takes over the job in Boston in July.
