Taunton Man Killed, Another Wounded In Brockton Shootings

BROCKTON (CBS) - A 23-year-old man was killed and another wounded in multiple shootings Thursday morning in Brockton, officials said.

A gunman opened fire on the man from the passenger's side of a black Mercedes.

Manny Junior Andrade, of Taunton, was found in a vehicle stopped near 133 North Main St. just before 11 a.m., Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz said. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the face, Cruz said.

Andrade was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Shortly after the first shooting, another took place a couple blocks away.

A man was standing outside of his car when two men approached him on foot. He turned around after he heard two gunshots and saw the men running away.

The victim tried to drive away.

"He drove with his door open and then when he tried to make the turn he must have hit the snow bank and then the door closed," said Ed, who lives in the area, adding that the victim then drove away.

The victim's condition is unknown.

Minutes later, multiple shots were fired to the east of the second shooting site.

Police haven't said if there was a victim in the third shooting.

It is unclear if the shootings were related.

No arrests have been reported.
