Stoughton Man Bowls 3 Consecutive Perfect Games

BROCKTON (CBS) – History was made in Brockton when Hakim Emmanuel bowled three consecutive perfect games.

Emmanuel, a 38-year-old MBTA inspector from Stoughton, bowled 36 strikes in a row to complete the rare 900 series.

He was bowling in the Thursday Night Patriots league at Westgate Lanes.

"I said wow, I got my first 300 game ever," Emmanuel said of his first 12 strikes.

Then in game two, he got 12 more strikes.

"Another 300," Emmanuel said laughing, "yay me."

By game three the pins were quaking in fear as Emmanuel approached them.

"It felt good, focused, stayed in the game," he said.

After eleven more strikes, there was just one ball between Hakim Emmanuel and history.

"The last ball, my hands were a little sweaty," he said. "Just telling myself 'I'm here, this could be it.'"

When they all fell down, he said, "I did the unbelievable."

The 900 score has only been done 26 other times in history and never in Massachusetts.

Once the accomplishment is verified by the U.S. Bowling Congress, Hakim will get a 900 Series gold ring.

"The Super Bowl of bowling," he says.

He plans to go out on the amateur bowling circuit and who knows, maybe he'll turn pro.

"Always believe in your dreams, never give up and practice, practice, practice," he says.
