Adam Kaufman Named WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Morning Sports Anchor

BOSTON (CBS) -- Veteran sports reporter Adam Kaufman has been promoted to Morning Sports Anchor for the top-rated, award-winning WBZ NewsRadio 1030 effective immediately (Monday-Friday 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.), it was announced by Peter Casey, WBZ NewsRadio News & Programming Director.

"We are thrilled to tell you that Adam Kaufman is now our full-time morning drive sports anchor. Adam has been a terrific addition since he started as a part-time sports anchor for WBZ and we are pleased he is joining our morning drive team," said Casey. "Adam has his hands in many areas of sports media and he will continue to do that while making WBZ his primary professional home. We feel it is a key component of success in today's environment to be on as many media platforms as possible."

A multi-platform sports journalist for more than a decade, Kaufman will continue to be a show host at 98.5 The Sports Hub and CBS Sports Radio in addition to being a columnist for Boston.com sports and serve as a regional television anchor on Comcast SportsNet New England.

Before being named Sports Anchor for WBZ NewsRadio's morning newscasts, Kaufman served as a radio talk show host, anchor, and sports reporter at three CBS-owned properties: WBZ-AM NewsRadio 1030, 98.5 The Sports Hub (WBZ-FM), and CBS Sports Radio.  Previously, Kaufman worked for two seasons as the lead play-by-play voice of the Boston College men's hockey team and five years with the Providence Bruins, the top affiliate of the Boston Bruins.  He is a graduate of Syracuse University.
