Report: Bruins Willing To Trade Dennis Seidenberg, Loui Eriksson

BOSTON (CBS) -- The NHL trade deadline continues to draw near, and some big names are beginning to get thrown into the discussion.

Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos said on Tuesday that the Bruins may be willing to offer up Dennis Seidenberg and Loui Eriksson in deals before the March 2 deadline.

Kypreos said the Bruins are the league's most cap-crunched team but they still want to add "a depth forward."

"They've got to still move some salary out, and the name I'm hearing now is Dennis Seidenberg," Kypreos said. "He's been a great guy for them the last few years, really solidified himself there with [Zdeno] Chara the last few years as a pair, but he still has $12 million left on his contract and he's not playing that well. And something's gotta give, maybe they have to move him out before they move someone in."

Kypreos added that he has heard Eriksson's name being "thrown around" in discussions, partly because Eriksson is not a "Boston Bruins-type guy."

Eriksson is currently tied for third on the Bruins' roster with 31 points, and he's third on the team with 12 goals. The winger, who came to Boston in the Tyler Seguin trade, is under contract through 2016.

Seidenberg, 33, signed a four-year, $16 million contract extension with the Bruins in 2013, which keeps him under contract through 2018.
