WATCH: WBZ-TV's Steve Burton Throws Pass To Brandon LaFell During Patriots Parade
BOSTON (CBS) -- WBZ-TV's Steve Burton had a successful career as a college quarterback at Northwestern before hitting TV screens throughout Boston, and on Wednesday it looked as though he was gunning for a new gig.
While covering the Patriots Super Bowl XLIX victory parade, Burton showed off his cannon. He completed a deep pass to Patriots receiver Brandon LaFell, who was calling for the ball from a duck boat.
To borrow a phrase from Burton, "As soon as he threw it, he knew it."
While the WBZ cameras didn't catch LaFell making the grab, you can see it at the end of a video loaded to YouTube by a fan.

The Patriots are set with Tom Brady under center, and Jimmy Garoppolo is entrenched behind No. 12 on the depth chart. But if the Patriots decide to carry a third quarterback next season, Burton is just a quick phone call away.
