Transit Officer Chases, Arrests Man For Knifepoint Assault
BOSTON (CBS) – A Transit Police officer chased and arrested a Dorchester man who allegedly threatened another commuter with a knife.
Police working at the South Station bus terminal said they saw Eddie Divas, 18, with a knife threatening a 42-year-old Maine man at about 7 p.m. Friday.
When the officer walked moved towards the altercation, Divas ran down one of the Commuter Rail tracks.
The officer chased him and, with help from another officer, arrested Divas. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
Divas is expected to be arraigned Monday.
