Andy Dalton: 'Patriots Have Been On A Roll Ever Since They Played Us'

BOSTON (CBS) - Bengals Pro Bowl quarterback Andy Dalton was kind enough to join Toucher & Rich Friday morning in Phoenix on Radio Row, as part of 98.5 The Sports Hub's continuing coverage of Super Bowl XLIX.

Dalton's Bengals were bounced in the first round of the postseason once again, but the 2014 season did leave us with one Bengals-related phrase that will forever live in the New England vernacular.

"We're on to Cincinnati."

The Patriots were in bad shape after the Kansas City blowout dropped them to 2-2. People were questioning Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the overall direction of the team.

Then came the Bengals on Sunday Night Football.

"We faced [the Patriots] at the wrong time after they lost to Kansas City on that Monday night," Dalton told T&R. "We knew what type of team they were, they just weren't playing well. They came in, and they've been on a roll ever since they played us."

New England is 12-2 since getting blown out by the Chiefs, and the streak started six days later against the Bengals.

Tom Brady likes his footballs under-inflated and Aaron Rodgers likes his footballs over-inflated. Andy Dalton says he has no preference.

"I don't do a whole lot with [the footballs]. We leave it to our equipment guys, so whatever they're doing I like it. I couldn't tell you the pressure and all that stuff that goes into it. They've got their special formula that they use to get it right," said Dalton. "I could tell you if I like or if I don't like a ball, but I don't know everything that goes into making it what it is."

Dalton also talked about Marvin Lewis, getting booed at the Pro Bowl and more.
