Gordon Gronkowski: Our Household Was Survival Of The Fittest

BOSTON (CBS) - Rob Gronkowski's dad Gordon Gronkowski joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich show on Thursday morning and discussed raising Rob and his other brothers, among other topics.

With all the siblings having some type of affiliation with sports, the most important room at the time growing up in the Gronkowski household was the basement downstairs, where Gordon encouraged his sons to work out with weights.

"If you want to take it to the next level, this is it, that is where you're going to stay ahead of everybody."

Once the younger brothers started beating up the older brothers, lifting weights became a domino effect with all the siblings working out in the basement.

"It was like a virus. They just motivated each other all the time," the elder Gronkowski told T&R.

The Gronkowski house was equivalent to a WWE ring, with all the brawls being taken place daily between the brothers in the house, including "at least two to three trips to the emergency room a year."

If there is one thing that gave Gordon a thrill, it was Gronk hosting the AFC Championship party at his house and not Gordon's house.

"The holes are in Rob's house this time, not my house," he joked. If the Patriots do end up winning the Super Bowl, Gordon will probably make sure the party will be at Rob's house.
