Darrelle Revis Puts Tom Brady In Class With Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson

CHANDLER, Ariz. (CBS) -- Through his eight seasons as a pro, Darrelle Revis has gained a rather unique perspective of life in the NFL. He's been a part of some championship-contending Jets teams, he's been a part of some dysfunctional Jets teams, he's been a part of a lousy Buccaneers team and he's now a member of the Patriots, for whom he'll be playing Sunday in Super Bowl XLIX.

Throughout those years, the quarterbacks he's played with don't exactly make up a Hall of Fame-worthy list: Chad Pennington, Kellen Clemens, a 39-year-old Brett Favre, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Mike Glennon and Josh Freeman.

So when Revis signed with the Patriots in the offseason, there was no doubt that Tom Brady was one of the biggest draws.

And now, after seeing Brady's work over the past 18 games, it seems as though Revis believes Brady is even better than advertised.

"His desire to be competitive, I've never seen it," Revis said Thursday at the Patriots team hotel. "You could put him in the category of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, just some of the great athletes in this world, and I'm talking different sports, too."

The praise means a lot coming from Revis -- himself not too shabby of a player, considered to be either the best or second-best cornerback in football, depending on whom you ask. And it's clear that Revis can't find enough words to express his appreciation of Brady.

"He has the fight, the will, and the determination to go out there and destroy anybody who's in his way," Revis said. "You see the results on the field. He's awesome."
