Boy Struck By Car In Marshfield After Sledding

MARSHFIELD (CBS) -- An 11-year-old boy was hit and injured by a car in Marshfield Thursday just after going sledding.

The accident happened behind the South River School, where many children were sledding Thursday morning.

Marshfield fire officials say he was struck in a parking lot by his friend's mother, who was picking them up at the time. Police were speaking to the mother at the scene.

The boy likely suffered a few broken bones in his foot and leg, but is expected to be OK.

Firefighters were on scene seconds after the accident because the Marshfield Fire Department is located in a neighboring parking lot, WBZ-TV's Bill Shields reported.
