Blount On Confidence In Patriots: 'Sometimes You Gotta Let People Know'
CHANDLER, Ariz. (CBS) -- To a man, every single member of the Patriots believes that Seattle can be beaten on Super Bowl Sunday, but publicly, most players would keep that confidence close to the vest.
One player who was not afraid to share his confidence was LeGarrette Blount, who stood out during Tuesday's Media Day when he declared that the Seahawks' defense is "not immortal" and "can be beaten."
On Wednesday morning at the team hotel, Blount met the media again, and he was asked if he was surprised to see that comment make some headlines around the country.
"No, it doesn't surprise me at all," Blount said. "I feel like a lot of people know how good our team is ... but at the same time, you gotta let people know.
"I don't take any credit [away] from Seattle, they're a good team," Blount continued. "They're back in the same spot they were in last year, and they're a real good team. But we're pretty good too."
Blount, whose season took a dramatic turn for the better when he was cut loose by Pittsburgh and picked up by the Patriots in mid-November, was also asked what the difference is in playing for the Patriots compared to his other two NFL stops. His answer was rather succinct.
"I noticed that we win a lot more games than a lot of teams," he stated.
One more win this season, and that confidence will be rewarded.
