Boston Police Bring Doctors, Nurses To Work In Blizzard
BOSTON (AP) — Several doctors and nurses at Boston's top hospitals made it to work during the blizzard thanks to police.
A spokeswoman for Mayor Martin Walsh says officers shuttled the health professionals to Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women's hospitals on Tuesday morning.
Even Commissioner William Evans helped out, making several trips.
A Boston police spokeswoman says about a dozen health professionals were picked up at their homes or transit hubs and transported to work.
Gov. Charlie Baker issued a statewide ban on non-essential travel, but health care workers were exempted.
Many, however, had difficulty traveling on their own because of the blizzard, which dropped about a foot of snow in the city.
