Report: NFL 'Zeroed In' On Patriots Locker Room Attendant In DeflateGate Investigation

BOSTON (CBS) -- There may be a reason why the NFL hasn't interviewed Tom Brady on the "DeflateGate" scandal after all.

According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the NFL has "zeroed in" on a New England locker room attendant who had access to the team's footballs before the AFC Championship game.

From Glazer:

Sources tell @FOXSports the NFL has zeroed in on a locker room attendant w Patriots who allegedly took balls from officials locker room to another area on way to field. Sources say they have interviewed him and additionally have video. Still gauging if any wrong doing occurred with him but he is strong person of interest

Brady said during Sunday night's broadcast of the Pro Bowl that the NFL has not spoken to him on the matter, and will likely do so after the Super Bowl.

The NFL reportedly found that the air pressure in 11 of the Patriots' 12 game balls for the AFC title game were significantly lower than the NFL requirements. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Brady addressed the situation last Thursday, with Brady telling reporters that he "didn't alter the ball in any way" before or during the AFC Championship game. Belichick again spoke about the matter on Saturday, saying he is confident the Patriots "followed every rule to the letter" in preparing footballs for the AFC Championship Game.

New England will play the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX on Feb 1. in Glendale, Arizona.

Tune in to Super Bowl XLIX on 98.5 The Sports Hub — the flagship station of the New England Patriots. It's the only place to hear Bob Socci & Scott Zolak's local call of the game!
