Patriots Will Head To Arizona On Monday

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots will spend an extra day in New England before they head off to Glendale, Arizona for Super Bowl XLIX.

The team announced Tuesday night that they will leave for Arizona on Monday, Jan. 26. Teams usually head out to the Super Bowl venue the Sunday prior to the big game, but the Pats will wait an extra day this year with the Pro Bowl being played at University of Phoenix Stadium that evening.

The last time the Patriots played in the Super Bowl in Arizona, seven years ago in Super Bowl XLII, they left on Sunday following a pep rally at Gillette Stadium. They will hold another send-off rally before leaving for Glendale, though details are yet to be determined.

The Patriots also announced that they'll practice four times at Gillette Stadium this week. Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and company will hit the field Thursday through Sunday before heading off to Arizona. Brady, who normally talks on Wednesday during the regular season, will address the media on Friday.

The Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1.

Tune in to Super Bowl XLIX on 98.5 The Sports Hub -- the flagship station of the New England Patriots. It's the only place to hear Bob Socci & Scott Zolak's local call of the game!
