BOSTON (CBS) - As standardized tests have become more and more important, some people would say our schools have become too focused on science and math at the expense of other subjects like civics or geography. But even with an increased focus on STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and math), the United States has fallen drastically in the global rankings for science and math performance. Vince Bertram, a former superintendent and CEO of Project Lead The Way, sits down with Dan to talk about why our students are falling behind in these areas, and how crucial the STEM subjects are to the future success of our country.
