Man Charged In Fatal New Year's Day Crash That Killed Rockland Teen

ROCKLAND (CBS) — A Hanson man has been arrested and charged in a fatal three-car New Year's Day crash that killed a Rockland teenager.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz and Rockland Police Chief John Llewellyn announced on Friday that Timothy Dominico, 23, has been charged with one count of motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of alcohol.

Rockland High School senior Patrick Sullivan, 17, was killed in a crash on Beech Street in Rockland just before 3 a.m. on New Year's Day.

Witnesses said that the operator of a 2011 Nissan Sentra had been driving on the wrong side of the road at a high rate of speed next to Sullivan, who was in a 2005 Toyota Highlander.

The two cars made contact and both crashed. Seconds after the initial crash, a third car rounded a curve in the road and hit Sullivan's car.

"They come speeding down, he was racing I think, I don't know," witness Heather Ludington said the day of the crash. "I saw them hit, I saw him flip. I feel so bad for his family."

Investigators determined that Dominico was the driver of the Nissan, and he was charged in Sullivan's death. He faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.

Dominico is expected to appear in Hingham District Court on January 20.
