Wallach: Mayweather-Pacquiao 5 Or 6 Years Too Late

BOSTON (CBS) - Reports indicate that the long-awaited, highly anticipated Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight is finally going to happen, but does anybody even care anymore?

Floyd Mayweather, 37, is 47-0-0 (26 KOs) and the #1 ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the world according to Ring magazine. Manny Pacquiao, 36, is 57-5-2 (38 KOs) and the #3 ranked pound-for-pound boxer.

"This fight is five or six years too late. They had a deal done [years ago]. They were going to do this in Dallas at AT&T Stadium, and you know what? If they'd had done it [back then] they would have sold out every one of those 108,000 tickets," said 98.5 The Sports Hub's Jon Wallach.

"When both guys were in their prime, I would have watched that. Now? I'll never pay $70 for Pay Per View. I won't even watch it on replay."

"It's embarrassing it took them this long to put it together," continued Wallach. "It would have been a generational fight. Everyone would have remembered it; two great fighters in their prime. They should have done it when they had the chance, and it depends on who you talk to why it didn't happen. It robbed this generation of one of those super fights that would have been remembered for years."
