Wednesday's Child: 11-Year-Old Kody

BOSTON (CBS) – Kody is a jovial 11-year-old boy of multiracial descent who loves to laugh and blow kisses. He has significant special needs, namely cerebral palsy and global delays. He has some mobility, but mostly uses a wheelchair and will need to live in a home that can be made wheelchair accessible.

Kody is able to progress and make small gains. He is working on increasing his speech and mobility. At this time, Kody can crawl and pull himself up onto the couch. He can say a few words and even learned to say them in Spanish. Kody is interested in the world around him and enjoys going outdoors. He also likes to sing and "dance," and he loves to eat all types of food.

Kody would do well with a single or two-parent family, with or without other children, who can provide him with love and attention. Kody is doing well in his school and home setting where there is a lot of nurturing, affection and consistency. Kody has done well in his foster home and has been able to develop strong, positive connections with other family members.

To learn more about Kody, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
