Wallets Stolen From Women Dining At Boston Restaurants

BOSTON (CBS) -- Someone is stealing wallets from women dining at Boston restaurants.

Police say there have been several recent larcenies at a number of downtown restaurants, including Stephanie's and Joe's American Bar & Grill on Newbury Street in the Back Bay.

"In these incidents, female victims reported that their wallets had been stolen from their purses while dining at the above establishments," Boston police said in a statement.

Surveillance video captured a person of interest at department stores in Cambridge, Newton and Chesnut Hill using the stolen credit cards, according to police.

The person of interest is described as a white woman between 30 and 40 years old. Police say she is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with long, brown hair and a heavy build.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
