Man Accused Of Plotting To Kill Maynard High School Students

MAYNARD (CBS) - A 19-year-old man has been charged in an alleged plot to kill students at Maynard High School.

Joseph Brooks, a former student at the school, was arrested Wednesday.

Police say he had informed some people about plans to kill students at the school's graduation ceremony this spring or on the last day of school.

"I thought he was a pretty cool kid, I guess," student Eugene Otieno said. "I actually was surprised when I heard that."

Brooks is known to police and has been previously charged with assault.

He will be arraigned Thursday in Concord.
