Sagamore Bridge Closed For Hours After Truck Hits Scaffolding

BOURNE (CBS) -- The Sagamore Bridge was closed for several hours Sunday afternoon after a tractor-trailer struck scaffolding on the bridge.

No one was hurt when the scaffolding fell on the roadway before noon, Bourne police said.

The bridge was reopened at about 4 p.m., but traffic was still backed up for about four miles in the area, officials said.

Traffic was being rerouted to the Bourne Bridge, and police said to expect delays.
