1 Week Until Christmas

Hard to believe there's only 1 week until Christmas! For those running around getting things done, our weather will cooperate for the most part.

Today, rain and snow showers will come to an end through midday with breaks of sunshine emerging through the afternoon. Highs will top out in the low 40s, but wind gusts to 30 mph will create feels like temperatures in the mid 30s.

High pressure will build into the Northeast tomorrow promoting sunshine and tranquil weather. Some coastal clouds move in on Saturday with a light onshore wind but overall it will be a quiet day. The storm we've been watching on Sunday looks like mostly a miss. Some flurries and light snow is possible but no significant travel impacts are expected.

Next week we turn a bit unsettled as the next disturbance approaches. Showers will be possible on Tuesday with a heavier burst of precipitation on Christmas eve day. "Warmer" air will win out this time around meaning rain instead of snow across New England. Behind this area of low pressure, blustery and chilly conditions move in for Christmas Day…and it looks like this colder than normal pattern will stick around as we approach the New Year with the heart of the cold focused from the Midwest back into central Canada.
