Two Charged In Connection With Stolen Leicester Laptop
WORCESTER (CBS) – Two people arrested in connection with a Worcester carjacking have also been charged in connection with a stolen laptop that contained photographs of a woman's seven-year-old son who died after a battle with cancer.
On December 6, Stacy Riel Rigiero's Leicester home was broken into as TVs, cash, jewelry and other items were taken. The stolen possession she was most upset about, however, was a laptop that contained photographs and videos of her son Maverik, who died in 2006 after a battle with cancer.
The laptop was returned several days later, though the pictures had been deleted from the computer.
Worcester police said on Wednesday that James Bishop, 24, and Jennifer Keane, 29, both of Worcester, were arrested Tuesday for a carjacking in the city.
Bishop and Keane were both charged receiving stolen property over $250 related to the theft of the laptop. They will be arraigned in East Brookfield District Court after they have appeared in Worcester Central District Court for the carjacking charges.
Police declined to say if the two were responsible for the break-in at Rigiero's home, only saying the two "knowingly had possession and control over the laptop after it was stolen."
