SUTTON (CBS) — A driver is lucky to be alive after a crash in Sutton sent steel beams through a car and a tree.

Sutton police say the car was near 85 Dudley Road Monday morning when it struck some steel beams being unloaded by a forklift at the home.

“The accident occurred with such force that the steel beam sheared through the vehicle,” Sutton police said in a Facebook post.

The crash also snapped a utility pole in half, and launched a 120-pound beam into a large oak tree.

“Luckily, the operator didn’t sustain even more injuries from the way everything unfolded,” police said.

Crews are still making repairs on the road and the crash is under investigation.
