Arlington Police Investigate Sex Assault

ARLINGTON (CBS) – Police are seeking a suspect in an alleged sex assault that took place in Arlington Sunday afternoon.

The alleged assault is believed to have taken place near the Cambridge city line between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., Arlington police say.

"This suspect allegedly attacked a woman in broad daylight, and we are asking anyone who may have heard or seen anything to please come forward and assist police in capturing this dangerous felon," Arlington Police Chief Ryan said.

Arlington Police Captain Richard Flynn said the victim did not know the man. The two had a brief verbal interaction before he assaulted her. She was able to get a few people passing by to help her. Flynn said they were not releasing more information citing the investigation.

Arlington police released a sketch of the suspect who is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, about 5'5" tall. He weighs about 150 pounds and has black braided hair and brown eyes.

Flynn said according to the victim the sketch looks just like her attacker.

The suspect was believed to have been wearing black boots, black corduroy pants with a red canvas belt, a blue beanie hat that had snowflakes on it, a dark blue jacket, and a gray plaid pullover collar that stuck out from under his jacket.

WBZ-TV's Katie Brace contributed to this report.
