Look To The Stars

This holiday season, you could help put gifts under the star of a Christmas tree of a child in need.  As part of our partnership with the Patriots, we're collecting new, unwrapped toys this Sunday at Gillette prior to game time! I'll be there (at the uBid.com gate on the southwest side of the stadium) along with David Wade & Bree Sison – so be sure to swing by to say hi!

Meanwhile, our weather is starting to improve…just in time for a spectacular sight in the sky this weekend! The Geminid meteor shower peaks tonight and tomorrow night, and is best viewed between midnight and the hours just before dawn. In fact, our WBZ photographers reported seeing meteors flash across the sky early THIS morning during our newscast.

In the northern hemisphere, this meteor shower is considered one of the best!  The moon will inhibit viewing slightly as it's in a waning gibbous phase currently.  Geminid meteors are bright though – so should the cloud cover cooperate, we could see nearly 100 "shooting stars" per hour.

Ofcourse you will want to be bundled up – our temps drop into the 20s tonight, and will be very similar Saturday night too.

There will be variable cloud cover, limiting viewing at times...
