Fire Burns Through Allston Apartment Building

BOSTON (CBS) -- Twenty people have been displaced from their homes after a fire burned through one side of a four-story apartment building Friday morning in the Allston neighborhood of Boston.

Boston and Brookline Fire Departments responded to the fire at 90 Brainerd Road at 7:10a.m.

Investigators say the fire was caused by an electrical shortage in a ceiling fan in one of the second floor apartments and quickly spread to the upper floors of the building.

Two firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Tully said the fire left an estimated $300,000 in damages.
