Univ. Of Vermont Students Accused Of Stealing, Killing And Eating Chicken

BURLINGTON, Vt. (CBS/AP) – A trio of students were arrested recently, accused of stealing a chicken from a University of Vermont fraternity house, killing the bird and eating it in their dorm room.

The Chittenden County prosecutor says he has declined to prosecute the students and all three cases have been referred to a reparative justice board.

Police said they received a report of trespassing and larceny on Sunday at a private residence on South Prospect Street in Burlington where members of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity live.

The president of the fraternity, which is for those interested in agriculture or food industries, said they have decided not to pursue charges.

Police say they don't know the motive for the theft.
