Mystery Solved: Gloucester Man Returns Ring To Owner

GLOUCESTER (CBS) -- It was the Facebook message Daniel Roark had been waiting for.

The 21-year-old from Gloucester had been searching for answers for weeks after he found a ring during a dive in Mexico. He posted a picture and the story on Facebook, and soon it was being shared around the world.

He received a message Saturday morning that gave him the answer he was looking for.

A woman reached out, saying the ring belonged to her cousin, and it turns out they lost it on their honeymoon.

"It feels really good. You get personal satisfaction, it pays off," said Roark. "I'm still kind of shaking cause it's so cool."

Martin and Jessica Castillo are from Mexico, and apparently lost the ring on their honeymoon. He thought it was gone, until a cousin saw Daniel's post which had spread to 100 countries.

"We were on our Honeymoon and realized lost it when got back to shore," said Martin.

Martin and Daniel spoke on the phone, and Martin couldn't believe his luck.

"We can't believe it this is like a blessing, like a blessing to us we have been crying all morning," said Martin.

Martin says the couple has had some hard times, and this is the news they needed. It is a precious find, now giving hope to a couple thousands of miles away.

"The fact that so many people willing to go out of their way it all paid off," said Roak. "Its kind of cool especially in the world we live in."
