Wareham Police Arrest Man For Possession Of Drugs, Gun

WAREHAM (CBS) – An Onset resident was arrested Friday in Wareham for possession of cocaine, marijuana, a gun and a large amount of cash.

Wareham police stopped a car on Minot Ave. Friday around 1:40 p.m. after receiving a report that the driver was involved in a drug deal in another part of town.

Police said that while investigating, police noticed the smell of marijuana and two folding knives in the car.

Officers then searched the vehicle and found 11 ounces of marijuana, a .38 caliber handgun, six rounds of ammunition, and an ammunition clip.

When the driver, Jordan Fontes, 24, was brought back the Wareham Police Department, police said he was searched and officers found two ounces of cocaine and $1,391 cash on him.

Fontes was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a firearm without an FID card, and unlawful possession of ammunition without an FID card.

The Onset resident is scheduled to be arraigned in Wareham 4th District Court on Monday.
