State Police Cruiser Struck In Dedham

DEDHAM (CBS) – A Massachusetts State Police trooper and a Framingham driver were hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon after a cruiser was struck by another car in Dedham.

Police said that at about 12:40 p.m. officers responded to Route 95 South near Exit 16A in Dedham where a 49-year-old Framingham woman struck a police cruiser while driving her 2003 Mercury Sable.

Officers said the woman traveled over traffic cones that were set up for the officer to perform road-work detail.

The woman's car then entered the breakdown lane and hit the left side of the cruiser, belonging to Sgt. Joseph Corbett.

Corbett and the Framingham woman were each transported by ambulance to Norwood Hospital. Both suffered minor injuries.

The woman was summonsed for operating after license suspension, marked lanes violation and failure to inspect a motor vehicle.
