Revolution Goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth Previews ECC vs. Red Bulls

BOSTON (CBS) --  The New England Revolution are patiently awaiting their Eastern Conference Championship matchup with the New York Red Bulls, which gets underway Sunday afternoon in New York.

The Revs and Red Bulls will square off in a two-game, aggregate goal series for a trip to the MLS Cup. WBZ-TV's Levan Reid caught up with Revolution goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth during the team's bye week following their series win over the Columbus Crew, and the netminder is very happy with New England's strong finish to the regular season and dominance of the Crew in the playoffs.

"We've had a bit of an up and down season. We had a winning streak early in the year, then a bit of a losing streak. But we've kind of put it together here," Shuttleworth told Reid last week. "It's a good group of guys; I knew when we went through that funk that we had a good group and if we did the right things the tide would turn for us. It has a bit, and adding Jermaine [Jones] was a big piece for us. Hopefully we can keep it rolling."

The Revolution are 10-1-1 since Jones joined the team in late August, and have won every game when he's recorded a goal or assist. In 10 regular season games in New England, Jones recorded two goals and four assists, adding another assist in their two-game series win over the Crew.

As for the Red Bulls, they're the only team in the Eastern Conference the Revs failed to beat during the regular season. Shuttleworth knows he's got a powerful offensive attack to worry about, but he's confident his team will be ready come Saturday.

"They have a lot of really good attacking pieces. Thierry Henry and Bradley Wright-Phillips have scored a lot of goals for them this year for them," he said of the two-headed offensive attack that scored 37 goals during the regular season. "They're very good and an organized group with a good goalkeeper. There is a reason they're in the conference championship. We know we're in for a tough test but we'll be ready."
