Hyde Park Man Seeks Wedding Ring Lost On Halloween

BOSTON (CBS) -- A Hyde Park man is asking local kids and parents to check their trick-or-treat bags for a treat he never meant to hand out.

Bob Rand says his wedding band slipped off as he was giving out candy by the handful last Friday night.

"I think it was just getting so cold when I reached in, maybe one of the lollipops got caught in it or something. It went into one of the bags," Rand told WBZ-TV.

"I looked down and noticed my ring was gone and was like, 'uh-oh.'"

Rand and his wife Judi celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary a few weeks before Halloween.

Their matching gold wedding bands have a platinum ribbon design and his is embedded with nine diamonds.

It's worth hundreds of dollars they say, but the sentimental value is beyond any price tag.

"I'm disabled...so I'm really not able to give any kind of reward, but you'd have my undying gratitude," Rand said.

His first wife passed away after a battle with breast cancer.

"I got a second chance at true love, It just means the world to me," he said. "I really miss that ring."
