Funeral Procession For Mayor Menino To Pass By Fenway Park, City Hall

BOSTON (CBS) – The funeral procession for former Mayor Tom Menino will pass by several places of significance on Monday morning.

Menino, Boston's longest serving mayor, died Thursday after a long battle with cancer. He was 71 years old.

Menino will lie in state at Faneuil Hall on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. so the public can pay respects. An honor guard of former staff members and community leaders will accompany Menino throughout the day.

The Faneuil Hall event will be streamed live on CBSBoston.com starting at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The procession to Most Precious Blood Church will pass the following sites:

  • Faneuil Hall
  • Boston City Hall
  • Parkman House
  • Boston University/Kenmore Square
  • Fenway Park
  • Dudley Square
  • Grove Hall
  • Franklin Park
  • Bowdoin and Geneva
  • Mattapan Library
  • Roslindale Square

A private funeral will be held at Most Precious Blood Church in Hyde Park.

A mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross at 1400 Washington St in Boston will be held for the public to honor Menino on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
