For $37.5M, A Penthouse With Stunning Boston Views
BOSTON (CBS) -- A luxury penthouse with breathtaking views of Boston could be yours – if you've got $37.5 million to spend.
That price will get you the entire 60th floor – or 12,846 square feet- of the Millennium Tower, which plans to open in the summer of 2016. A one-bedroom home in the tower will start at $850,000.
Construction crews broke ground last year on the $689 million, 1.4 million-square-foot development in Downtown Crossing at the former site of Filene's Department Store.
The new, 60-story mixed-use tower will reach 625 feet and include condos, offices and retail space. It took 600 trucks about 36 hours to pour 6,000 cubic yards of concrete to create the slab for the new building.
"The property will feature 442 luxury residences boasting views never before seen from a private home," Millennium Partners says on its website about the city's "most talked-about development in a decade."
