Daily Talker: Wasteful Spending

It's a list that causes a lot of head scratching around this time each year.  We're talking about Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn's annual "Wastebook," a ranking of 2014's top 100 worst examples of government waste.  This year's edition includes:

-$190,000 to study compost digested by worms

-$856,000 to train mountain lions to walk on treadmills

-$10,000 for an Oregon children's theater production of "Zombie in Love"

-$414,000 to update an Army video game meant to spur recruitment

Coburn has been producing the Wastebook for five years. "We should be ashamed that we're wasting money the way that we are," Coburn said.  What is your reaction to this list?  How concerned are you about the way the government spends money?
