Police: Man Pulls Fire Alarm After Leaving Phone In South Station

BOSTON (CBS) -- A Revere man who allegedly told police that he pulled a fire alarm because he left his cellphone inside South Station overnight is expected to appear in court on Monday.

Transit police arrested 22-year-old Marwin Maurin just after 2 a.m. Monday outside the entrance to the MBTA Red Line in South Station. He told officers that he set off the alarm because his phone was still inside the station, according to police.

The station entrance was closed and locked at the time, police said.

Maurin was charged with disorderly conduct and false fire alarm. Police also say he was carrying methamphetamines at the time and will face a drug possession charges.
